Special Needs Ministry

Unity Church provides opportunities for elementary to adult-aged individuals with disabilities to participate in Bible study, missions, worship, and fellowship within age-appropriate, inclusive, and separate setting options. Trained teachers and volunteers from special education and related backgrounds lead the Accessible Disciples ministry.

Sunday Morning Options

Our Accessible Disciples Ministry provides both inclusive and separate setting options on Sunday mornings.

Inclusive Classroom Option

The Accessible Disciples ministry team will work with the child's family to determine the most appropriate options for accommodations and adaptations for the individuals with disabilities if it is preferred to participate in the inclusive classroom church setting.

Accessible Disciples Classroom Option

The Accessible Disciples ministry team will work with the child's family to determine the most appropriate options for accommodations and adaptations for the individuals with disabilities to participate in the Accessible Disciples classroom setting. Opportunities for rich Bible lessons, fellowship, music, prayer, and mission activities will occur together with the class using the following Sunday morning schedule:

9:00-10:15 Mission and music activities

10:15- 11:30 Bible Study, Music, Missions, and Fellowship Activities

Sensory Room

Our Accessible Disciples ministry provides a sensory room with a variety of equipment to address sensory input needs. This room provides a calm space to refocus and prepare for learning and interacting with others.

Beyond Capernaum

Bible study, fellowship, games, and meals are provided for adults with disabilities, their personal care workers, and/or their guardians from 6:00 pm- 7:30 each Thursday from mid-August- late May.
